Jeremy M. Barr

Jeremy M. Barr is a 2005 graduate of Macalester College and a 2009 graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law. He joined Dowd, Bloch, Bennett, Cervone, Auerbach & Yokich LLP as a law clerk in 2009, became an associate in 2010, and became a partner in 2017.

Jeremy has a broad range of experience representing employee benefit funds. Early in his career, his practice focused on defined benefit pension plans, federal court litigation, withdrawal liability, delinquent contributions, and qualified domestic relations orders. Over the years, Jeremy’s practice has expanded to also include defined contribution pension plans, welfare plans, claims for benefits, fraudulent transfers, recoupment of overpayments, compliance with ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code, bankruptcy, plan design, and investigations by the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor.

Jeremy is admitted to practice before the Northern District of Illinois (General Bar and Trial Bar), the Central District of Illinois, the Northern District of Indiana, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Illinois.
